The meeting for April 2009 was called to order April 4th in the historic Moody Depot by Club President Wiley Starnes at 10:34.
The minutes for March 2009 were presented. A motion was made by Mike Ross and seconded by Trace Bowen to accept the minutes as read. The motion passed. The Treasurer’s report was submitted, read, and accepted.
Old Business
Wiley Starnes reported that the missing O Scale Coaling Station had been found.
Library – Bill Lancaster reported he was still working on cataloging donations.
Clinics – Dick Copeland announced that Trace Bowen will conduct a clinic on N and HO Decoder Installation on April Run Day at 10:30.
Train Show – Wylie Starnes reported that the O scale train set for the raffle layout had been ordered. Earl Blanchette had donated a sheet of plywood. Bill Lancaster is putting together some buildings. Jim Bush has volunteered to do the scenery.
Electric Bill – Ron Miller reported he had not made progress on changing electricity providers.
Dan Ladd reported that the large patches for club vests had been ordered with no change in price.
New Business
New member Javier Ortiz was welcomed. Javier models Conrail and New Jersey Transit.
The 2009 club officers were announced. They will be: President – Wylie Starnes; Vice President – Ron Miller; Treasurer – Dan Ladd; Secretary – Clark Overman.
Wylie Starnes announced that the depot’s front door lock was going to be changed to a new dead bolt lock. Bill Lancaster will exchange old keys for new. Jim Bush has volunteered to install the new lock. Also, a special thanks to Jim Bush for repairing the depot’s dock paneling.
The RRHM asked the club on March 20th to remove the club’s property stored in the old MKT depot within one week. Wylie Starnes organized a committee that removed and disposed of the materials as needed.
Bill Lancaster announced that copies of the club’s bylaws are available in the library. They will also be available in the Member’s Only section of the club website.
Ron Miller made a motion to allow Bradley Linda to invite the RRHM Planning Group to observe an operating session one day. Trace Bowen seconded and the motion passed.
Joe Pyland made a motion to adjourn and Mike Ross seconded. The club adjourned at 11:14.
